gathered at the offices of attorney George Bochetto for the
project's first fund raising event.
Former Philly boxing stars (L to R) Curtis Parker, Jeff Chandler and

Veteran Boxers Association Beef & Beer - VBA Clubhouse, Port
Richmond
Members of the Giardello
family and the project organizers welcomed a large crowd of
supporters at
the Veteran Boxers Association Clubhouse for a Beef & Beer
fundraiser. Rosalie Tilelli, Joey's wife,
is at the center of the above photo, while two of their sons, Joe
Tilelli & Paul Tilelli, are at right.

LeVotch Begins Sculpting Miniature Version of the Statue - VBA Clubhouse, Port
Richmond
Artist Carl LeVotch is currently
working on the statue. His process calls for three different sizes
of the
Giardello piece. The first version, shown above, stands
approximately two feet tall - about 1/4 scale of the final work.

Private Fund-raising Dinner Held at Nicholas Restaurant in South
Philadelphia
An exclusive fundraising dinner
was held in South Philly by a group of project supporters on
Wednesday,
August 26th at Nicholas Restaurant. If you would like to host a
similar event, please contact the project.
About thirty friends of the
statue project attended the private affair.

Giardello (Tilelli) Family Approves Statue Design
Paul Tilelli, Rosalie Tilelli and
artist Carl LeVotch with the preliminary
two-foot version of the Giardello Statue.
LeVotch shows the Tilelli family
his work.
Rosalie gives her feedback on the
statue.
LeVotch is creating the work in
an attic studio at the VBA Clubhouse
in the Port Richmond section of Philadelphia.
