Strict Biz Promotions staged a
truncated professional boxing show on Saturday night (May 31) at
Harrah's Philadelphia in Chester, PA. After several bouts fell out
at the last minute, only two official fights came off on fight
night. However, the promoters, Rasad Brown and Greg Pritchett, added
three exhibition bouts featuring some of the boxers who were left at
the altar.
In the main event, welterweight Adonis Wilkins,
Newark, DE, scored a quick TKO over Anthony Dill of New
Philadelphia, PA. Wilkins dropped Dill once before trapping him in
the red corner with shots that promted referee Eric Dali to halt the
contest after 2:56 of the scheduled six-rounder. The win extended
Wilkins' undefeated streak to 6-0 with 5 KOs. Dill lost for the
second time and left with a 3-2, 3 KOs, record. In the other fight
of the night, Philly middleweight Tariq Green won a four-round
decision over fellow-Philadelphian LaQuan Evans. The action went
back and forth and resulted in a split decision between the two
locals. Judge Tony Lundy scored the bout 39-37 for Evans, but the
cards turned in by Nicholas Chimienti (40-36) and Paul Wallace
(39-37) swung the decision Green's way. Green improved to 6-4-2, 3
KOs. Evans evened out his record to 5-5, 2 KOs. Eric Dali was the
referee.
